Ok, got a '87 RX-7, in pretty good shape, it's a good looking car (silver) but i cannot find any euro/altezza taillights for it, I was talkin' to the guy i bought it from and he said you can put the newer style taillights in with a little bit

of modding, is this true? and if so how?

pengaru 12-12-2002 02:17 AM

why?!

:rice:

moderators, can we add a rice meter to the threads that the members can influence? so it can be shown in the thread listing the rice rating to avoid clicking on it :P

CrashFactory 12-12-2002 02:24 AM

because i like the jspec with the circles, i dunno, just the type of person I am :P

CrashFactory 12-12-2002 02:30 AM

oh and there are red dragons on the door panels, yep that pushed the tacky meter into overdrive....

pengaru 12-12-2002 03:10 AM

but you said you were considering the s5 tail lights only because you could not find altezza style tail lights...

what difference does it make? unless your current ones are cracked or something, I think the riceboy style taillights are getting to be cheaper than OEM replacements because they sell so many.

These words do not belong in the same sentence and euro/altezza doesnt need to be in any sentence ever! That is unless of course your making fun of them.

CrashFactory 12-12-2002 12:35 PM

i like non-factory taillights, let me put it that way, any HELP would be nice :P

j9fd3s 12-12-2002 12:44 PM

there are no nonfactory tail lights for the fc, unless you are good with bondo https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

mike

CrashFactory 12-12-2002 12:49 PM

BONDO IT IS!!!!!!!! but none of u are really not answering the question, can i get a set of 92 taillights (preferrably jspec) and make adapt them to fit on my 87 without a whole shitload of hassle?

75 Repu 12-12-2002 12:55 PM

What the hell is it with people and J-spec.. Just get some series 5 lights.. 89-92.. and put-em in there. The series 5 lights are the ones with the two circles that light up when you press the brake..

$100T2 12-12-2002 12:57 PM

I just got sick reading this. Thanks.

pengaru 12-12-2002 12:57 PM

yeah

and they were installed @ the factory on s5 cars.

j9fd3s 12-12-2002 01:17 PM

the 92+ lights are for the fd, it would take an act of god to fit them in the fc

the 89-91 lights are almost a bolt in deal

mike

75 Repu 12-12-2002 01:21 PM

Yeah, what he said...

Turbo II 12-12-2002 01:52 PM

what is wrong with u guys. euro/altezza taillights would look ******* tight on a 2nd gen. i should make the living **** outta u guys talking smack to this kids.

Turbo II 12-12-2002 01:53 PM

but on a serious note the lights from a 89-91 look a lot better then the 86-88 light. and yes they just pop in, u can find em cheap at almost any junk yard. oh but u will need an extra piece around the lisence plate, at least thats what i heard.

Geoffman72 12-12-2002 01:55 PM

There is no difference at all between the 89-91 JDM taillights and the 89-91 USDM taillights. I heard somewhere that the JDM ones have a rear fog light like Audi and BMW do, but I'm skeptical on that.

Oh, and please god dont install any taillights other than factory onto an RX-7. If you want to be "different", modify the cars looks, but make it look better. Most people modifying cars looks today go for tacky rice crap apparently, so be different and make it look GOOD.

Heres an example

Geoffman72 12-12-2002 02:01 PM

Not many people have a widebody TII, now hes got a different car that looks good and can fit wider tire under it.

Now that I have gone on my wild tangent against rice boys, just get the 89-91 style lights off any USDM RX-7, you wont have to pay 60 bucks shipping from Japan, and you get the same lights.

I don't suppose it's too much to try and get you to remove the dragon graphics on the side doors? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

norotor_nomotor 12-12-2002 03:12 PM

UniqueTII 12-13-2002 01:03 PM

That widebody fc would look better if the moldings matched up.

Turbo II 12-13-2002 01:30 PM

it would look nice if it was the color changing wonder

UniqueTII 12-13-2002 01:33 PM

Maybe santa will bring me a widebody kit. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

BigTurbo74 12-13-2002 04:21 PM

do they make some clear but smoked tailights for the fc's? i mean that would look tight not ricey, or is it basically the stock everywhere? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

j9fd3s 12-13-2002 04:32 PM

you can take the 89 lights apart and take the "smoked" part out

mike
