I have a 87 n/a and it wont go into gear no matter how hard i try to put it in gear. plus the clutch pedal just stays down, is it the clutch cable?
well if your clutch doesn't come up there is no pressure in it, there is air in the clutch hydralic assembly. Is there fluid in the clutch resvour? Your clutch masterc cylinder could be leaking. If you can't disengage the clutch it won't go into gear nicely
Id check for clutch fluid along the clutch line. They tend to crack and leak at that age.
it has fluid, is the clutch master cylinder easy to replace
how do you get the air out of the clutch hydralic assembly
Yes the Master cylinder is easy to replace, just have to bleed the fluid, and take off two bolts. (from in side car)
Also you can tell if your master cylinder is shot if you push it down on the clutch (after you pull it back up off the floor) and have some one look at the slave cylinder, the slave will slowly goes back off the forkit's lossing presure. It could be your slave then to i guess... but when mine went it was the master.
cool i will check that and see do you know how much one would cost
so what happened?
I havent checked it yet been working late will check this weekend
