I finally got the damn flywheel nut off, but now I can't find the right kind of tools to "pull" the flywheel off. Can somebody out there give any suggestions. Are there any members of the forum who have a puller I can buy or use? I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah and don't want to have to pack the engine to a Dealership.

getting the nut off should have been the hardest part. give the flywheel a couple wacks on the inside edge with a RUBBER HAMMER, it should help it come out a little. at least thats my recolation of how i did it before

yah put the but on a couple threads and smack the flywheel with a hammer

I should hit it on the inside edge? You mean hit it towards the engine? I can't get anything between the engine case and the flywheel.

it doesnt matter which way you hit it, it just needs to jump off the taper fit. you need the nut on a couple threads otherwise the flywheel will attack your feet

Thanks alot guys. I had no idea it was a tapered fit. If all goes well, I'll have the engine the rest of the way apart over the weekend.

I eased mine off with a prybar and a few blows with the hammer. I must say its definitely easier to remove when out of the car. If you are putting a new clutch in you might as well have it resurfaced, should cost around 20 bucks at Napa or the machine shop.
