Well I was talking to my friend (guy who helped me put the Jspec in), and he was talking about his Rx3 he sold. Turns out it was a 87 6 port motor. He streetported it and it was turbo'd. Car ran 11's on small slicks. I asked him why he wanted to use the 6 port. He told me because it was also higher compression. Would a 6 port turbo really make more power than a stock 13bt 4 port? Oh yea, there was no intercooler and it blew through the AFM. He told me the response was about 5 times better than stock. Could this be true?

Yes, it has been done.

Here is a VERY good reason why a 6 port would make more power than a 4 port Turbo Motor:

Port Timing

The Aux Ports on a 6 port motor keep the intake ports open much longer.

As for a P-Port Motor... The Overlap is so large you would be pushing a lot of compressed air/fuel right out into the exhaust.

What about having the turbo blow through the AFM instead of before the turbo? Why does that give it that much better response?

I've seen people do that, but I never tried it.

I've heard of a few people using 6 port housings in turbo applications. Some of them combine both ports into one big port.
