ok, I've got the gxl 5-lug hubs, with the saw-blade type rims (off the car). On my car is the 4-lug phone-dial rims with corresponding hubs. I've seen in the Haynes manual how this part is removed and installed, but I want to be sure I've got everything. Is there anything specific that needs to be replaced with a new part? brake line fittings, or anything like that? I know if it's messed up looking it needs to be replaced, but was wondering if there's anything that automatically needs a new part. and the guy I got these from said the brake pads were fairly new, but is there anything I should do with the brakes before installing all this? they've been sitting for awhile. I'm eager to switch to 4-piston calipers :yum:

if you do 4piston calipers you need brake lines and 4piston pads besides the calipers. to do 5lug you need, hubs and rotors front and rear. anything else ? i never did the 5lug swap. i had a 89 GTU which i did have the 4piston TII calipers put on it though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

What I have off the car is the 5-lug hub assembly, with the 4 piston calipers attached already to the hub assembly. I'm assuming the brakes have pads, but I guess it's best to check and be sure https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png . Do I need different brake lines than what's already on there? (switching from single to double piston on fronts)

yup you need the 4piston lines for the front

Is it ok to install used brake lines, or is that something I should definitely buy new?

also, what series had the 4 piston calipers? I'm pretty sure these aren't off of a TII. any tips from someone who's done this themselves?

you can use used brake lines. GXL,sport package and T2's come with the bigger brakes

Oh its fun getting those hubs off https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png You'll find out. I heated up the notched section of the nut, and used a couple small screw drivers with a hammer to bend them out. Just becareful not to break the screw driver off in there.
