What is required to change my GTu over from the single piston calipers to 4 piston calipers? Is it just a direct swap, or something more involved?

you need the rotors caliper and lines for the front. i dunno if the rear is worth doing or what you need to do to make it vented

I'm just trying to convert the front brakes.

it works like this rob



86-87 sport, gxl and turbo get 4 piston brakes

88-88 gtu, gxl and turbo, and vert

89-90 gtus, gxl and turbo, and vert

91 coupe a package or better, turbo and vert



everything else in 86-88 gets 4 lug, and 89+ gets 5 lug single piston

the S5 GTU has a funky single piston setup, which afaik is not shared with other FC's



the rotors are the same as for the 4 pistons, but you're gonna need the front mounting brackets for the 4 piston brakes.

and now that i think about it the 4 pistons don't even have a mounting bracket, so the caliper will just bolt on where the single piston bracket goes https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

i did the swap to my old GTU. i only used 4 piston calipers, pads and lines....
