is it a crime to put an aluminum wing/carbon fiber spoiler on a 91 rx7?
ive been putting around with my 7 i bought about a month ago and i cant find any other online that has anything more than the stock spoiler.. just wondering if its totally unheard of to put one on. if a front wheel drive dodge neon has a right to then i figure a rear wheel mazda could pull it off but that might just be me. what do ya think? |
knight sports has a rear wing that is cool and not a cloths hanger. RE Amyamia has a very tastefull rear carbon wing that i like myself

if the car gets to see track time (circuit/road racing), i think an inverted wing is fine. Spoilers, whatever floats your boat. I don't see too many aftermarket good ones with stock body. Still, you're getting the wrong idea with the whole neon thing. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.gif

yeah that makes sense. ive just seen some pretty ridiculous sized wings on the smallest cars. i guess its not really pointless like a wheelie bar on a acura integra (which ive seen) and it could serve some purpose. im just looking for other views on the topic.

you need to be moving pretty fast for the wing to do much besides make the car a little more stable.

Urg, not many FWD vehicles should have a GT spoiler. because many hardly benefit from that kind of downforce at certain speeds. Low deck spoilers provide enough stability at lower speeds. The FC benefits from a mid deck / high deck spoiler because the car start to get twitchy at higher speeds. So unless your car see's the track often there is no reason for you to put a GT or carbon wing on the FC.
Here is an example of a GOOD gt spoiler on a FC that needs its function. Id steer away from adding a GT spoiler if you are just going for looks. http://corksport.com/store/image/e16...II_Spoiler.jpg |
i get what youre saying. im not sure mine will see the track anytime soon but thats a pretty nice looking spoiler. where did you find that?
