ok for my non turbo s5 im getting my racing beat road race exhaust and custom piping from a shop. should i get 2 inch piping done or 2 1/4 piping. im probrably going to have them weld it to the stock mufflers until i get more money for a better exhaust. no cats because i got the air pump to open my 56 ports.

another thing i was told i could rev to about 11 grand with stock s5 rotors just needed to beef up the oil system add a extra oil cooler is this true any help would be good thanx

You can rev to 11 grand with any series rotors. Theres a whole bunch a **** you gotta do tho. I'd recommend a clutch and maybe flywheel shield. You dont want neither exploding at 10k and cutting your legs off. (this actually happened to someone I knew)

About the exhaust question: the bigger the better, just be prepared for the loudness.

1300ccTuner 04-01-2005 05:49 PM

should i replace it with a stock clutch and aftermarket pressure plate? and where would you get the flywheel sheild?

and i thought if you go bigger it still would hurt my engine regardless of backpressure because i dont think thats an issue because its a s5

you would want to obviously replace both with high performance parts. why use stock equiment on a high performance application? you could probably get a sheild made. shouldnt take too long.

If you want torev that high, ide be prepared to port the motor. Go with a nice street port.

psyclo 04-02-2005 03:45 AM

Please dont break your motor, dont rev like that unless it was built to. Isn't fuel cut at 8-9k?

Baldy 04-02-2005 10:50 AM

The question is, can you make any decent power that high? Doesn't the power curve on a stock motor drop off before then?

As for exhaust, when I was searching for mine, I was told to go with 2.25" or 2.5", but not bigger. I went with 2.5" to a single magnaflow muffler.

GreyGT-C 04-02-2005 11:06 AM

exactly.... unless you are running some MAJOR port work (Bridge,p-port, j-port) you aren't gonna make any power that high anyway. Not that the engine would really hold together that high anyway.

How high can u go safely on a stock engine? Just wondering

I wish people will realise, its not how high you can rev, its how high wil you make power, you wont make power at super high rpms with out a bridge port or a p port. But on a stock motor I wouldnt go any higher than 7k-7.5krpms.
