What kind of 2 cycle oil should I run and at what mix?

I am going to switch to Synthetic in the motor but need to add 2 cycle in the tank.

I was thinking about https://www.redlineoil.com/prdVarImg/102.jpg. But @ what Mix?

Redline says:

Red Line Oil’s popular two-stroke lubricants contain base oils which have the highest film strength and greatest affinity for hot metal. Because Red Line is a superior high temperature lubricant, it can be used at lower fuel to oil ratios, increasing power and providing excellent scuff protection and cleanliness. Where many two stroke oils are recommended to run at 32:1, many Red Line customers often mix their fuel at a leaner, 40:1. Red Line provides the lubricating qualities of castor oil, but provide exceptional cleanliness, with low carbon residue that dramatically reduces plug fouling and smoke. Red Line provides special protection for reformulated fuels. Dyno proven to make more power over longer periods of operating time.

Isnt that exactly what you are NOT to use in rotary's? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

tcw-3

Redline products rule but I'd stick with a TCW-3 oil... Castrol has it in quarts and probably much cheaper than that Redline.

He can run syn since he's premixing and has no oil metering pump

Yes no motor oil being injected. So I wanted to switch to Synth. I've heard good things about switching. Smoother running etc. Like that is even possible with a Rotary. Anyway I run Synth in my piston thumper (daily driver).

What ratio? I've heard 100:1 is good.

This is a Turbo motor if that matters.

Thanks, Dave

I've read an ounce per gallon is right, then I read its too much... I run an ounce per gallon and everything is fine.

just put an assload in and then put less and less in until your car stops smoking...

Husemoller 06-11-2004 06:37 PM

you can run synthetic oil just fine...just stick to some good brands

mobil1 , royal purple , etc

If you are injecting it into the motor than Mazda says don't use Synthetic because it doesn't burn as well.

I need to premix because I am not injecting motor oil into my motor, so am switching to Synthetic.
