Hi guys, New member here....duh...lol...My Cousin recently bought an 89 turbo engine is stock, Its having the idle issue's and I wanted to ask here before he spends his hard earned money taking it into Pineapple for service just for the idle issue. also after we figure out the Idle issue he has the full Corksport Turbo exhaust to install, My question about that is what would be recommended to install the exhaust since the engine is stock? I really don't want to be hasty in installing gofast goodies and tear it up.

Thanks a bundle...

Jay.

the issue started after he blew a fuel line driving 4 hours to his parents house. he barely got it running (it was smoking out of the exhaust and didnt want to stay idling.) the turbo also wont boost properly now and the car is lacking the power it had before it blew the fuel line.

he didnt drive it because he was lucky and the fuel line actually burst as he was going out for one of his random drives and his dad saw the puddle at the end of the driveway. he drove maybe two miles and then parked it in the shop to start working on it.

any ideas would b greatly appreciated. he is a mechanic but mostly works on diesels in the military. the rotary engine is fairly new to him. he has only ever worked on his 1990 gxl that his so called friend neglected and the engine is now shot. he is really pissed off that he cant figure it out. he has looked at everything several times and cant find anything wrong with it.

he also wants to know if there is a fuel return line that runs under the intake. because he thinks he found a low pressure fuel filter while he was messing with the fuel lines.. again. any help you can give would b greatly appreciated.. thank you for your time.

Well, as a prior military technician I know you can't do anything without your tech data. You can download the factory service manual (fsm) from the fsm area on here. As for the operation issues, I would look at the primary injectors as my fd did something similar when the harness plugs worked loose from my injectors.

Best of luck and let us know what you find

We will look at the car as soon as he gets back from his date, whats with the shoutbox? I get a "[#SB-VIEW] You do not have permission to view the Shoutbox" when I click on it.
