i just got my 87 t2 and my friend that has a gsx is talkin **** and i was just wonderin if i could beat him in a race when he gets his car back? mine is totally stock with a 5 speed and his car is also 5 speed but he has exhaust and an intake.

thanks so ur predictions.

turbo2fc90 03-30-2004 09:51 PM

I think you will probably show him your tailights https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

75 Repu 03-30-2004 09:53 PM

He may launch faster cuz of the AWD.. but in the end the T2 shoud take it..

roadkill669 03-30-2004 10:26 PM

No problem.

The GSX may not pull on him that bad because you have to ease out the clutch on a AWD car then get on it. If you can get some good traction, you should get right in front. Oh yeah, wait a minute, you dont traction with a T2 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I think they run like 15.2-15.5 stock. They're pretty heavy. It should be a good race.

Dont underestimate the downpipe as an upgrade on a DSM if he hes got one.

racerxtreme7 03-31-2004 11:33 AM

my friend has a gs-t and he'll always see my tail lights. Im guess'n that he'll get a jump on you cause of the traction but if you shift right youll prob put a couple of cars between you and him by the end nuffin to worry about. Ive always liked that model eclipse but bottom line, its not in the same class as an rx7 period. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

racerxtreme7 03-31-2004 11:40 AM

my friend wants me to note that they are in the same class https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif but you know what i mean

Tough call...but if the GSX has intake/exhaust, I think he'll take you.

If your 87 T2 is running perfect, you will hang or pull on him from a roll. My old neighbor had a 98 GSX w/intake, DP,MP, catback, safc. he'd KILL my 91 n/a. The T2 was another story...but then again mine is faster than a stock T2.

Good luck! You'll give him a good run either way https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

yea i guess your 7 really does have to be in perfect running order, i still think you got him. Is the tii 100% stock,,no fuel cut off atleast. Cause if you had fco you could deff getting him in the higher rpm.

drunkin_idiot 03-31-2004 01:12 PM

Damn I was gonna race a gsx the other day on the road cause he pulled up next to me and we were gonna run but I didnt know if I could take him I should have went for it though damn. Ohh well theres next time. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Sesshoumaru 03-31-2004 01:17 PM

close if best

but i think he has the upper hand. Driver is a big player.

he has more hp and awd but you are lighter.

get another 20-30 hp and call it a day.

racerxtreme7 03-31-2004 03:56 PM

lol you can do it,,,the gsx has a FATTT ass https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

BigTurbo74 03-31-2004 04:00 PM

Just find out: race him. Too many variables involved to predict anything.

racerxtreme7 03-31-2004 10:28 PM

yea and let us know what happends i wanna see how this turns out.

rx7_re 03-31-2004 10:32 PM

Yea, just race him. You may win, you may not. Who cares. At least your car looks better.

MazdaEnthused 04-01-2004 12:19 PM

yea you could spank'em ... then slap on a corksport exhaust do a little intake mod.. and FCD to be safe..

racerxtreme7 04-01-2004 08:35 PM

i havent heard good things bout the cork sport exhaust setup. I dont know if i like the single pipe on a turbo maybe on an n/a. I like my 80mm rb setup or that old school hks setup those sound nice, but yea exhaust, intake and fco and forgetabout it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
