is there enough clearance for 18's under there? dont want them to rub or nething. making sure before i buy them, i saw the post with the guy with 18's....

donhayes 06-09-2005 12:29 AM

yes and no. It depends on the offset. Go to tirerack.com and compare the offset with ones that are guarenteed to fit.

cdaleracer669 06-09-2005 12:38 AM

all they have is 15's and 17's

cdaleracer669 06-09-2005 12:40 AM

would 17's have an advantage over 18's handling wise? or visa versa?

donhayes 06-09-2005 12:43 AM

Thats weird, if your car has 5 lugs then choose the turbo model. Its all the same as long as you have 5 lugs and not 4 on your wheels. I'm talking about tirerack.com now. The lightest wheels and the best for handling are the 15's from a vert. They weigh 10lbs. I have 17's for daily driving and those vert wheels with slicks for racing. I hope this helps.

cdaleracer669 06-09-2005 12:47 AM

well i have a 5 lug, would the offsets make a difference tho?

donhayes 06-09-2005 12:48 AM

no, any 5lug wheel on that site for the turbo will fit on your car. I dont have a turbo. I have the sport model, but i looked under turbo. It'll fit as long as your car isn't lowered too much.

http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/Whe...86&autoModClar=

this is for the gtu model or the most common 5 lug car.

cdaleracer669 06-09-2005 12:56 AM

**** i meant to say i have 4 lug.same offsets still apply?

donhayes 06-09-2005 01:02 AM

i don't know. It might, but don't quote me on that. Wait and see if anyone else knows about it later today. sorry

Yes they fit, 18x7.5 w +40 offset.

Tires,215/35/18s

Go with a 215/40/18 if you want a taller tire and have the clearance.

jackboots 06-09-2005 04:06 PM

but 215 is so teh skinny!

I've got 245's and still don't feel like I have enought meat out back.

turborotor 06-09-2005 05:02 PM

I got 18s and they fit great. See this thread

About the widest you can run in the front is an 8.5. But, you can fit 18's. Im running 18x9.5's in the back. 265/35/18's. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif I have 245/40/17 on my TII and thats already close.

Do you have coilovers? Whats the offset on those wheels?

hr43 06-13-2005 06:38 PM

I went with 18x9's w/ 265/35/18 on the rear and 18x8 w/225/40/18's on the front ,both f&r have 35 offset.No coilovers. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif
