I found a 1988 Turbo II for 150$ but it has a bad radiator, and it has a cracked exhausts manifold. Is it worth 150? How much is a turbo II motor?

rotarychainsaw 10-26-2002 07:45 PM

$150, what a rip. where is this car again? :yum:

Scott 89t2 10-26-2002 11:09 PM

umm.. yes. you could resell so many parts each for that price LOL

or buy a new rad and manifold for a few hundred and get it running.

vosko 10-27-2002 12:12 AM

i doubt those are the ONLY problems though...... my TII ONLY had a problem with the alternator belt. then i found wheel bearing was shot, brake rotors were ALL WARPED!!! etc.... just be wary!

RX7Aggie 10-27-2002 12:23 AM

$150 is a great deal, considering they might get more selling it to a junk yard. my brother got $200 for his jeep cherokee 4 cylinder with a blown engine and tranny. i dont know, for only $150 bucks, engine, transmission, diff, everything could be blown. this thing could have been driven into a lake, with the radiator and whatever broken below it went swimming with the fishes.

It doens't sound like a bad deal, If you dont' want it. let me know. I'll take it.

yea, well I seen it run, and it runs ok, well from the out side,.The Car is in Richmond CA, I dont think i will pick it up because the parents are saying I have too many cars here and to many crx parts liyin around, My grandmother said "You have three freakin crx trannies out there, and now you want to add and RX-7" So yea, I dont think i will be able to pick it up.

blaze08 10-27-2002 01:59 AM

I'll buy it man! But the problem is that i'm all the way down here in Miami.

Umm, yeah, Three CRX's are WAAAAAY better than one turbo RX-7, Stick to the Hondas. :rice:

banzaitoyota 10-27-2002 09:09 AM

750 to ship across country. I'll sell mine in SC for 1800

[insert sarcasm here]

i think you forgot that part. any running rx-7 will beat 3 crx trannys. you kind of need the rest of the car for it to be worthwhile. even so, I wouldn't trade my TII for one CRX even if it had three CRX engines in it!

the following is a visual representation of anyone's reaction to a $150 running TII for sell: :yum:

Cost benefit

Is it worth your time and money to buy cheap now and pay much more later

Yeah man ,every once in awhile parts pop up in Ebay for rx7's. But visit any local rx7 shops if you can and ask around. And i'm sure there are alot of people in this forum that have extra parts somewhere; like Bonazitoyota. BTW. Why do you call yourself Bonaitoyota.

banzaitoyota 10-29-2002 01:18 PM

Years ago I raced a 2.oL Toyota 2TG Corolla, 84-86, NO ONE was racing Jap cars on the street so some guys called me banzai
