Emissions testing has started in certain TN citys (sucks!). New O2 sensor, temp sensor, plugs, etc. These brought it way down but not enough. Front two cats are original, back cat about five years old. Would appreciate hearing from anyone in Tennesse with 2nd gen that has passed. Any ideas?

Where at in TN, and what were your results?

hi ..haven't posted here in awhile(been on other forum)..you would most likely need a new Catalytic Converter(trust me rotary engines have higher exhaust temps,.they eat catalytics..clog them ..etc)..you should get one with the split air pipe..that way you can hook your air pump(assuming you still have one ) directly to the cat by that tube(think 3/4" heater hose)..it will supply oxygen to the exhaust..and dillute the exhaust ..Also if you take the car out for a GOOD run..like 40 minutes Highway drivin..high rev..the cat will get hot and be able to do it's job..(think of it as a sponge)..other thing is to add either 1 gallon of methyl hydrate or Denatured alcohol to a near empty tank..like two-three gallons of fuel..This MIX will burn ..and the Additive Creates Oxygen..so the exhaust gases are now dilluted Before the cat,and mixing with More Oxygen from the rerouted air pump(remember air now entering cat)..you get a nice Good Dilluted Exhaust..and with a Tuned engine, you now have a car that Should pass Emissions..thsi info was from a whole bunch of threads..no bull..double check if you wish..it's your car..But you will find that it will hold water..all the best to ya..Oh..FILL UP..AFTER YOU PASS THE TEST..the mix is ok for the test but runnin it for an extended period of time may cause some seal damage..hence the Term..FOR TEST ONLY..Good luck to ya..misterstyx69
