you need the following:

engine mount brackets (k2rd $420)

giant radiator (k2rd $400)

beefy clutch (its gotta hold 350-400lbsft)

flywheel

intercooler+ custom piping (1500)

a standalone ecu (1500-8000)

coils (100-600)

and about 1000 of misc stuff (fans, wiring, etc etc)

plan on about $10,000 and at least 6 months

thats it?????? wow i thought it would be alot more complex than that. what kind of ecu can you use? i dont think a pfc will owrk will it. i would think a haltech or maybe a tec3 would do the trick though. also will a 20b connect to fd bellhousing? i think i remember hearing that you needed a new transmission. also what if i already have the fluidyne radiator for my fd could i use it on the 20b? if i already have most of the stuff you listed for my single turbo setup, my question i guess is how much of it is going to be useable for the 20b.

oh for an fd you need either a custom subframe, or to cut the firewall. the engine will work fine with the stock fd tranny. i had a fludyine before in my fc when it was "stock" and it was so/so, the 20b prolly will need somethign bigger

"That's it"???

Yeah...it's so easy, everybody's doing 'em these days. In fact, they're dam near *giving* them away it's so easy to do...

If you having a hard time figuring out if a PFC will work on it, you should contemplate spending your time elsewhere as you need to educate yourself about the project before making such grand judgements about complexity. It's like saying getting your masters degree is a piece of cake..."you just write a paper... uh, right?"

:bigok:

You're turbo might be usable but at the least you will have to change out the turbine side and put something far larger in, like a 1.32 or more. Don't forget about bump steer issues with the FD's as well. I think Mike is under-rating the cost of this conversion because he can do some of his own fabricating and welding. Makes a big difference in costing. You should be able to use any suspension mods you've done, exhaust should be at least 3" or more OD.

the pfc almost works nut not quite, turbo III is right there are a bunch of little things that you need to think about, but thats the fun part

turbo III take a chill pill man. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif i know its not the easiest thing to do but i am sure it isnt the hardest thing to do either. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png dont just assume i am another wannabe who thinks this some great easy project i can do at home on a weekend. if you have done this conversion then i will be really greatful for any tips that you have. if you are like all those guys on rx7club that dont even own a car and always say that it is impossible or cost a fortune and not to even try then i have nothing left to say to you. as far as mikes shop is concerned, i got my own shop and i fabbed a bunch of custom parts for my single turbo conversion. do i consider myself good with a wrench....yes. :bigthumg: Have i done more work on my fd then most people will every dream of attempting?...yes. the reason i didnt think a pfc will work is because i thought the 20b used a different harness so.... if a pfc uses a stock harness then in my mind it wouldnt work. i was just trying to confirm this. obviously its going to need alot of custom parts. but hell if i got the money and the time why not consider it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png of course i am not just going to do it unless i think i can do it. but i am not going to pay a shop to do something i feel i can do myself. i posted here trying to gain information. you said i should research the idea more.....well what does it look like i am doing :squint: also i have never heard about a bump steer problem?? care to explain this alittle bit more. thanks for any helpful input. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif i am here to learn....
