Hi all. RX-8 owner here.



I'm not planning a 20B swap yet, I'm just trying to gather information. Maybe in two years, if I know everything I need to, I'll consider it.



-Balancing. I understand the concept - make sure everything has equal weight around its axis of rotation. My question is how that's done. I figure you have to spin it and see where it sticks out - but once you identify that, what's next? Also, how much would it cost?



-Clearancing. This is making sure everything fits together seamlessly, right? If I were to find something too big, that's easy, shim it down. But what if something is too short? How much would THIS cost?



-Rebuild. This is a big one. The important parts are the E-Shaft and the thick center iron, correct? Would it be easier to rebuild a used 20B or build it from scratch from the E-Shaft/Center Iron out? I figure if I buy a 20B I'm going to be replacing just about all the other parts anyways. What's more cost effective?



-Rotors. 8.5, 9.7, and 10.2. My motor is going to be N/A, so I want high compression rotors, right? That means 10.2?



-Port. Naturally aspirated peripheral port. I know it's not "streetable", but it wouldn't be street legal around here anyways so that's a non issue. How much is it?



-Losing the turbos. I know it can't be as simple as pull em off and boom, N/A. What needs to be connected/disconnected (besides ECU)?

i just assembled my PP engine, and it really doesnt look streetable, the ports are so big, i can check the sparkplugs by looking in the intake....

i am considering a 20B swap myself and would like to know about thee questions and also i heard that if you swap a 20B is will decrease the handleing a bit which is something im not willing to give up lol so im debaring now if i want a 20B or just streetport the fd
