Hi,

i got a quick question:

is the front of the 20B similiar to the 13B REW? a friend is thinking about going 20B. now he made a lot of custom stuff (mounting brackets for supercharger etc.). the question is: must these be modified? or do the 13B REW mounting points remain the same on the 20B-front ?

afaik, the 20B-front design leans more towards the 2nd Gen 13B-RE, ritght?

Thanks,

Chris

Not sure if this is what you are asking, but i was under the impression that the 20B front housing was a 13Brew housing with additional machine work. The engine mounts are in a different location than a 13brew though.

Mabye he means the front cover?

Hi,

I'm sorry for the confusion, I'm not very familiar with 20Bs.

but basicly i mean both: the front housing and the frontcover.

the front housings are identical except for several additional holes drilled thru the 20B housing. The front covers are completely different. I'll see if i can find a pic when i get off of work to post for you.

a pic would be cool, thank you! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

are the front covers interchangeable?

btw that's a very disturbing, yet cool pic in your sig, haha!

the 20b front cover is basically the same as the t2 ones.

so you can bolt a FB fron cover? and move the engine/tranny back a bit and your good to go?

I wouldn't recommend that.

With that much weight and power potential, I'd think that type of engine mounting will be prone to failure.

Maybe the original poster can explain to us what they are trying to do?

20B's into SA22's have been done, but there's a lot of OTHER stuff that needs to be taken care of...like replacing the rest of the drivetrain to handle the increased power!

If this wasn't a problem, you wouldn't be asking about trivial things like engine mounting...

depending on the EMS your friend is going to use, he can just put a FD front cover on the 20B and use the magnetic crank sensors to run the engine. He can also use the FD water pump housing as well. I've had zero cooling issues and the FD front cover just looks way cleaner. You will have to modify the front of the oil pan were it bolts up to the front cover or you can silicone the **** out of that area and get away with the 1 10mm that still lines up with out any leaking issues. This should keep pretty much all of the mounting points that I'm assuming he is using for his supercharger brackets. This is assuming that he is using the old A/C and Power Steering bracket mounts.

Also, please throw some pics in here of the super charger set up. I'm thinking of upgrading my N/A 20B FC project to super charger in the future...
