hey just wanna know if the renesis rotors can be used in the 3 rotor? i seen them use it in a stock 3rd gen and got 22hp gain

g11ary 09-19-2005 06:57 PM

Yes there are a couple already out there I believe.

RETed 09-20-2005 07:33 AM

No.

I'd like to see PROOF that is made 22hp on a "stock 3rd gen"???

i dont find 22hp too farfetched...... considering 1psi of boost can sometimes yeild 20hp.... so an 11% increase in compression ratio should make more right?

i wonder what modifications need to be done to the rotors so they can be used for a peripheral exhaust 13b. im sure there are slight variences on the renesis rotor for them to work on the sideported exhaust

some food for thought

rfreeman27 09-20-2005 01:49 PM

If you were going turbo, I'd think you would want to machine the apex seal groves to accept a stock 3rd gen 2mm seal. The rx8 seals are shorter, and are thus weaker.

Il RX8 lI 09-20-2005 01:51 PM

Aren't Renny rotors high-comp though? Wouldn't that make turboing a bit harder?

FikseRxSeven 09-20-2005 08:23 PM

high compression will make the turbo spool faster

Il RX8 lI 09-20-2005 08:29 PM

But do they allow as much air to be forced in as lower comp rotors?

FikseRxSeven 09-20-2005 09:07 PM

well.... save volume.. the engine is still called 13b isnt it?

rfreeman27 09-20-2005 09:28 PM

High compression = more likelyhood of detination at the same boost level as a lower compression rotor.

it should make some more power though

balancing is the trick, on a 13b you can buy the couterwieghts.

20b is different

yup. as long as you use S5 or FD rotors you can still use stock counterweights. Once you get into S4 rotors, you need to have counterweights made.

neil

rx7_dren 09-23-2005 01:36 AM

Yep so if i get a 20B for my 1st gen since its sugh a light car i wont mind having a all N/A engine 3 renesis rotors with a custom lighten E-shaft from guru racing, custom lighten pullys, electronic distributer, custom intake manifold from magnus that clames 40hp, and a exhaust to match the power and so on i say ill spend 12G on everything and get a 300hp+ reliable, efficent motor....what you think

cant you use the complete rotating assembly from an S4?

any advantage from S4 as opposed to S5?

not on a 3 rotor, they only made the 3 rotor with s5 internals, thus theres no counterweights for anything else, its gotta be custom

treceb 09-23-2005 10:15 AM

how do the counter wieghts differ from a 3 rotor to a 2 rotor? are there more than 2?

FikseRxSeven 09-23-2005 11:48 AM

ok, i did a research.... s5 are 9.7:1 and s4 are 9.4:1

there are still 2 but since theres an extra rotor to balance out, the cw's are different sizes

rx7_dren 09-25-2005 10:36 PM

so no one cares about an efficent reliable, 20B pushing 300hp?? with lighter internals and pullys that thing ill get to max HP in no time better than a F1 hopefully

FikseRxSeven 09-25-2005 10:54 PM

of course people care about reliability..... but im sure cost comes into effect sometime

the factory race 3 rotor engines from the 80's are rated at 450bhp@9000 rpms, i dont see your point?

bpmfla 09-29-2005 11:27 AM

If i don't get 500 whp on my 20b single turbo i'll be disappointed

rfreeman27 10-04-2005 03:43 PM

i'd be too, i'm doing that on a 13b pretty easily...

GreyGT-C 10-05-2005 02:45 AM

i'm aiming for 600rwhp at less than 15psi......hopefully reliably. 500 should be an easy task depending on the turbo.

FikseRxSeven 10-05-2005 06:44 AM

600hp and reliable in the same sentence?

GreyGT-C 10-05-2005 06:59 AM

i'm gonna DD that bitch too!

guess what

it's been done, and made more power than 300 horse, and it did it all without "lighter pullies"

hahahahha better than F1
