Has anyone adapted an american tranny like a Ford C4 or Chevy powerglide to a rotary motor. Any info would be helpful!

You can always make an adapter plate. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Bumping up an old thread but how did you go with this? I am trying to find something similar myself. I've sent an email to FB Performance Transmission but haven't had a reply back (I am in Aus).

Seems like most other places sell the large piece of metal thats drilled for both the powerglide bellhousing bolt pattern and another lot to suit the rear mazda iron, I personally don't like the look of it one but and it would require me to buy a new starter motor to suit...

What I am looking for is something like this,

Where I can bolt up the cosmo bellhousing to the transmission, like a normal one! Hopefully i'll get a reply back from FB soon...

I made a 1/4" thick steel plate adaptor to fit the back of the rotary and then fitted a Chevy S-10 standard shift bell housing to that plate. This was so we could use a Richmond Gear 5 speed in the race car. The Richmond has a flat face with Ford Chevy and Chrysler bolt patterns, so many combinations were possible.

The S-10 piece is crap, so support the engine so no bending load is applied to the bell housing.
If you have a TIG machine and access to a big lathe
you can use the front 2 or 3 inches of the Mazda bell housing, a piece of 1/4" aluminum plate and as much of the GM power glide housing as is required to keep the converter on the shaft. Use an early RX2 or 3 flex plate.
You will need to manufacture an adaptor to center the nub on the converter, so the back of that would fit over the nub and the front end would look like the pilot end of an input shaft but the diameter would probably be the same as a pilot bearing OD as all 20Bs were automatics.

Three 12 hours days. Piece of cake.

Or buy an automatic from an importer, or import a 20B and it will have the trans attached if you like.
