I understand the dowel Pins in a 20B are different than the 13B. Can anyone explain the difference in the pins and why they're different?

I think the groove goes into the front plate.

Actually, they're all the same length. 2 have about .030" groove cut into the end, but I cant figure out why. I didnt notice it untill I got ready to re-assemble the motor. but I cant seem to find any difference in location upon assemby.
