Are you getting your basics, Fuel, Air, Spark? Is it flooding?

Lacan91 03-02-2004 02:37 PM

Check if it is flooding, then go from there

Lacan91 03-03-2004 09:42 AM

it's flooding, real bad. i tried taking some fuel out of the primer map but the thing just keeps flooding everytme i try and start her after doing the unflooding procedures. i'm lost at this point.

Maybe the floats are stuck. Tap the tops of the banjo bolts with a screwdriver handle. That may unstuck them. It also never hurts to try a brand new set of plugs, bur7eq leading and bur9eq for trailing. Good luck

turn off the fuel and crank it over with no plugs, clean the old ones and go from there

Lacan91 03-03-2004 02:31 PM

how many times should i crank it over?

I've never had to deal with a flood, but I'd guess you'd have to crank it enough to blow the unburned fuel out. The gas is also killing your compression (by washing the oil off the rotor housings), so you could add a small amount of heavy motor oil to the primaries and crank to re-coat.

its the weirdest thing, the leading plugs are dry but the trailing plugs are soaked. i don't get it...
