My only question about that is that i live in NY and i think they have adopted the california laws so would that mean that im subject to a visual inspection every time i get the car inspected?

I know here in MASS cars 1984 and older are exempt from emissions testing. Your state should be similar.

Hell, even the emissions dyno testing was abandoned here. Cars 96+ dont get the sniffer test at all, Just needs to pass OBD and visual.

i know im exempt from emissions testing. It's just the fact of passing a visual cuz i just read up on NYS DMV website and it said that all model years are visually inspected for cats from the time that they started putting them in cars. But i also just read that the cat delete that racing beat makes has "an emission control passage cover plate." From what i understand this could mean that this plate is a thing that goes around the straight pipe to make it look like a cat. If it is then im set, im gonna buy it the second i can. Which would lead to a lot less sluggish rotary and a lot more spivic ownage.
