Does anybody know the difference between the factory AC for the GSL-SE and the other models in 1984?
I know manufacturers frequently change compressor vendors; best price of the month I suppose, but is the compressor bracket on the engine the same? I am assuming the hoses, expansion valve, drier, evaporator and condenser are the same right? thanks, BTC |
The gsl se had a Lighter a/c made by a different co.(I have read).
Im not sure if IT will bolt to the bracket you have but I bet the gsl se BRACKET will bolt to your motor. |
the gsl-se has nippon denso ac and most of the rest of them have a wynns/sanden system. there are almost no compatible parts between the 2 systems. i think the compressor brackets are the same though

Yea,........What he said.

mike Where can I get reliable info on the factory AC systems? My Dodge Dakota manual has over 100 pages on the AC system...they aren't that different, condenser, evaporator, hi line, low line, filter/drier/accumulator, and orifice tube or expansion valve/block. What is the big secret? Thanks, BTC |
Goto
http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/1st_gen_manuals.htm See if the main connections are the same. I dont see why you couldnt do it if you really want to, you'll probably just have to change a little more of it out then you originally thought |

the ac for those is a suppliment mike Thanks, BTC [/quote] yah the supplement isnt much good at this point, 90% of the parts are nla from mazda mike |
I would go talk to an A/C expert.

The 12a's use a compresser that both hoses connect to the compresser with one bolt. The 13b (GSL-SE)'s compresser uses seperate hoses. each hose connects to the compresser. I agree if you change the whole system over,,then maybe so. The condenser and the fitting at the firewall use the same size thread. just change the compresser and hoses, and maybe brackets.

Sounds Fun and Rewarding!
