I purchased this lightweight steel 225mm flywheel some time ago on Ebay from a gentleman in Canada. I should have studied the pics more carefully because once I tried to fit my racing beat clutch and pressure plate to the unit disappointment quickly set in!

Turns out there is no outer raised area on this flywheel for the pp to bolt to.

If I place the pp directly on the flywheel there is a large gap between the two.

Does anyone have experience with this unit and if so can you tell me more about it? It seems I have nothing more than a paper weight if I cannot locate an appropriate clutch/pp to work with it.

The guy I purchased it from had no additional info on the unit.

does that stamp say 0839? maybe its some oddball top mount thing

That's a thinned out stock flywheel. When you say there's too much gap between your pressure plate and the flywheel, how much are we talking? What pressure plate and clutch disc are you using?

0839...yeah. What's the signifigance of that. What do you mean by top mount?

I have a racing beat pp and sprung 4-puck. I'll try to get a measurement of the gap.

When I swapped out my stock port for my half-bridge I took out my old RB Street/Strip clutch and pressure plate and put in a RB Street/Race clutch (4-puck sprung clutch) and pressure plate. I noticed that the Street/Race clutch is considerably thinner than the Street/Strip clutch, and I'm thinking that they're only compatible with their respective pressure plates. You might double check to see if you're using the appropriate pressure plate with the clutch.

I'd also seriously consider a scattershield if you're running anything higher than a stock rpm (and then I'd still consider one).

I still have to get a measurement of the gap but I did just run out to the garage and compare this unit to both a stock 225mm and 215mm unit. I really don't think it's a lightened stock unit. The teeth on the stock units are up near the elevated outer edge that this flywheel doesn't have....amongst other differences

The gap measures just under 3/4"....maybe 11/16. Seems pretty large to me. I'll take some pics of the disk and pp and make sure there's nothing funky with them.

The disk says clutchnet on it. Is that from racing beat?

Ok, answered my own questions about the clutchnet thing. The disk and pressure plate look just like the ones offered on racing beats site.

The flywheel is still a mystery...

0839-11-700B is the part number for a 73 rx2 flywheel....
