Does any know what carb works well with a 12a ported?

Can I find one off the shelf at an auto parts store?

Or do I have to go to racingbeat?

Anyone have any experience with carbs?

Get an Edelbrock 500cfm carb. It is by far the easiest carb to work with right out of the box. It will bolt right up to the Racing Beat holley intake.

I like to use Holley's. If u have a stock or streetport than yes, the Racing Beat 465 is a bolt on application. Its well manered for street use and performance is verry good. Or you could get 600 cfm carb perferably the ones for chevy V8 trust me it makes a big differance dont get the ones for the ford V8. some thing about the metering block and emulsion tubes. How u tell the differance is look at the tower that houses the choke flap. some where on the tower is a magic number it must be something like this---- 1850-1 or 2,3,4,5. these I belive are older models so your not going to find them new. Obviously this is mutch more involved but the end result is sweet. U can still go to the part store an get a newer style 600 for chevy application but the numbers are a bit different. therwe still 1850 but the #'s after the - are different these still work fine. I hope this helps. A 12a in a mg midget has got to be fun. my mom had the bigger dropp top.

I was when I had my 12a. Really good results and smooth ride w/ the edelbrock. Now I'm running a 6port 13b and went w/ a Holley 600 this time.

I thought you needed a 1" carb spacer for the linkage to clear the waterpump.

I've had excellent results with my Sterling carb (www.sterlingmetalworks.com)

They have a bit of a waiting list, but well worth it. To see how well they perform, just check out my post in the autocross section. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif
