Alright. I drove the 84 GSL-SE I have been talking about, and that thing is alot of fun to drive, and I did not even redline one single gear while driving. I fishtailed in 2nd gear which was really cool. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The car died once on me when I first started it up, and it did not really bother me very much. It idles PERFECTLY right at 750rpms. It accelerates perfectly. The A/C still blows cold, the clutch is really soft though, not sure if this is nomral or not. It goes into ALL of the gears perfectly. It has response whenever the throttle is touched.

My questions are:

NO POWER STEERING? I find this quite weird. It has all power options, except for pw sunroof.

How in the hell do I do a compression check again? I know that Shane told me, but I don't even see where the connecter is at. Can somebody show me a picture of what to unhook so I don't spit fuel out of the spark plug holes?

What is the oil pressure supposed to be at idle? I was reading between 55-60psi. And then under heavier load it was at about 40psi.

Anyhow, I will be buying the car on the 15th of this month. I will more than likely be keeping it stock engine wise. It is just far too pretty to swap a 13b-RE into it.

Car has 54,206 original miles on it. Has one dime sized dent on the rear passenger quarter panel, and it looks like somebody did something to the front drivers side panel. Exterior is brown, interior is brown.

Most RWD cars don't need power steering IMO.

Just out of interest, how many manual gearbox's have you driven? Sounds like you might be more impressed by the gearbox than anything https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png The only time I drove an automatic it felt like there was a big elastic band between my right foot and the rear tyres.

What do you need power steering for?

My clutch is quite soft too.

yeah pics, how much, and good find.

my clutch is pretty soft too. the connector is right under the drivers bin and there are two wires from it, one black and one black with white. to test it just take out a spark plug from each rotor, one at a time, and turn the car over. there should be 3 even swooshes as it cranks each time there is a full revolution. sounds like the car is running pretty well if its fishtailing in 2nd

The no power steering really does not bother me very much. It seems really bad in a FWD car. My buddy has an older Sentra, and it is hell getting that thing to turn from a stop. And my Wrangler is a 6-speed, and my 88 RX-7 was a 5-speed. And I love how quite the car is until you get to 4k and above. It just sounds great!!

And I agree, automatic is really hurting. You can't control the revolutions to your liking, plus your brakes last a LOT longer if you drive a stick, every time you make a turn just downshift. Don't even hit the brakes.

Pics shall be posted tonight when I get home. I am at work right now. The clutch is like super soft, I don't like it, but I don't hate it. I like a medium to hard clutch, just so I know what I am doing. It is hard to explain.

The guy wants 2,500 for it. This will include inspection of the vehicle, 4 new tires put on, and anything that is needed for inspection. Brakes, rotors, struts/shocks, any exterior lights that are needed, and an oil change. I actually found it just sitting. It was at a local garage shop, I dropped off a GMC dually for inspection, and I saw it just sitting. I almost hit someone pulling into the shop. LOL.

Pictures will be posted tonight. Hell, they even left the ******* sticker on the gas lid that says "Unleaded Regular Recommended".

It needs a detailing REALLY badly. But I told the guy not too worry about that, I would take the honor of doing that myself.

I am so excited about getting it, and my girlfriend is currently hating me right now. She is pissed I already have a car and am buying another one, and she does not have one yet.

I told her I would let her drive the RX-7 no problem. She said she wanted to drive the Wrangler, I told her if she wants to share half the payments, sure thing!!

'Nother question, what are you all using for tires, does not seem like there is much selection.

Shane.Trammell 09-01-2005 04:11 PM

i am using falken ziex 512s. theyre pretty good but seem to be wearing quickly, im sure that doesnt have anything to do with the way i drive

if you have a discount tire around you check out their website at tires.com

Pictures as promised to you all. I am still torn on what to do with the car. Keep it stock and just drive it. Or boost it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

rowtareh 09-01-2005 11:08 PM

Even the little sticker is STILL on the gas lid. I am just amazed at how clean the car is.
