If I could have a little guidance as to where I'm supposed to drill for the oil return, that'd be awesome.

Also, what else I have to do to make this front cover work...fittings, etc.

Thanks!

P.S. Damn that 19mm bolt is one big, tough mofo.

Should I drill here?

Dysfnctnl85 05-09-2004 08:49 PM

Oh and uhhh...where does the turbo get oil from? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Dysfnctnl ain't just a fancy name...

The oil feed will be on the top corner of the front iron, by the lift eye. Thats the right spot for the drain as well. How do you intend to secure the oil drail to the front cover?

Dysfnctnl85 05-09-2004 09:29 PM

Dude I have no clue.

Want to edit my photo so I know what you're talking about?

LOL.

That circled spot is the right area for the oil drain. And the feed is on the front rotor housing next to the oil filler tube.

I know i know, this is for a supercharger.. whatever.. it uses the same oil supply and drain locations as your precious turbo..

hope this helps..

Yeah that makes it very easy, thanks a lot!

I cleaned up my front cover some. I haven't been able to find fittings at a store I can walk into yet...so hopefully I'll be able to find the fitting I need tomorrow and start drilling...

Racer X 05-12-2004 11:52 PM

You will want to drill and tap it for 1/2" NPT.PM Iotus on here.He has a part number for a fitting that will all you to make your return line installation alot easier than mine was.

Dysfnctnl85 05-14-2004 04:22 PM

There's no way you can tap that area I circled. There's like MAYBE 1/4" of material there!

Please help. Does anyone have a pic of a 12a cover with this oil return line on it?

You are the man just for posting those pics.

But is there any difference in the width of the cast at the point on the 12a vs the 13b? It seriously doesn't LOOK like I could tap that area and it hold up, you know what I'm saying?

Dysfnctnl85 05-14-2004 10:27 PM

Also, could you post a pic of the otherside of the fitting?

I'm pretty sure I bought the wrong kind today...you can see it in my GenD post.

I really appreciate the help, thanks for posting those pics.

Bump, bump, bump, bump, all in your trunk...

drifter 05-17-2004 08:37 PM

You can also drill it and then weld a fitting to it rather than tap it if you don't have the hardware.

Dysfnctnl85 05-18-2004 11:03 AM

I think I'm going to tap it in a different location because apparently the 13b and 12a front covers differ in that exact spot...there's more material to tap on the 13b front cover.
