wondering if any of you have heard of this and whare to get it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

DJ Rotor 04-08-2003 03:49 PM

Huh?

Heard of it, yes. Where to get it, you'll have to build your own most likely.

Does that answer your questions? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

BTW Corky Bell's "Maximum Boost" has a whole chapter on carburetted turbo engines, if you're even thinking about doing this get that book.

Give it a while.. You may rethink your answer.. heheheh J/K.

Bender82gsl 04-08-2003 04:10 PM

whend to that website and found nothing

DJ Rotor 04-08-2003 04:19 PM

Yeah I checked it just now, and their catalogue is still under construction . . . they have a place for the kits info to go, but no info there yet. Suppose e-mailing or calling them directly would be the answer

Bender82gsl 04-08-2003 04:26 PM

ill give it a try

boosted12a 04-13-2003 07:43 PM

be verry verry carefull of mazdaracing.com. ill leave it at that. it would probbaly be better to just sorce all the parts you need from abunch of different places. vw powered sand rails use blow thrus, you could probbaly get the carb abd bonnet cheaper at a vw place, then get the weber manny at mazdatrix or racing beat. or you could do a drawl thru set up for simplicity and cheaper setup.....

he has a 720 rwhp 1.1 liter 12a. Pretty impressive.

I am looking into a carb/turbo setup on a TII engine for my '85.

boosted12a 04-14-2003 08:19 AM

Draw through setups suck https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

They are prone to icing, especially in colder weather. And you can't intercool them. You can use water injection as a substitute for intercooling but that's kind of a band-aid as well.

boosted12a what kind of a setup are you running?

J

boosted12a 04-14-2003 03:34 PM

drawl thru works just fine! ive ran a bae drawl thru set up on my car for over 3 years. i have never had a problem with iceing. the ic is not that big of a deal, the fuel mixing with the air cools it quite a bit. i ran 13 psi forever, no problems. im finnaly gonna go efi soon so teh car is compleetly apart.

if you have any questions please contact me so i can help!

blowthrough systems work great and are a cheap alternative to expensive EFI systems!

for some people, a kit is what's needed. I prefer to experiment, that's all.

Hey whats up? I'm ganna use a 91 TII turbo and manifold and blow it threw a 650 dubble pumper holley and manifold. For fuel I'm gonna use a rising rate fuel press regulator and boost timing computer to retard timing under boost. I've got an intercooler off of a conquest tsi to cool the mixture. I hope I gave you some ideas. Theres many ways to do it without buying an expensive kit.
