Well now that she's painted, tires are the next mod. any suggestions? I was told to keep all 4 the same by someone, but I'm going for the old school big in the back look https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

205/60/13 is the biggest I think I could squeeze on stock rims, but not sure what to do up front. anyone running different size tires?

205-60-13 is perfect, if you want bign' littles get 195s in the front

man if you put the larger tires on the rear, its gonna completly throw off the dinamics of the car. Especially since they are going to be a relatively high profile tire.

I believe this will make your car very unpredictable and unstable under hard cornering.

Ohh yea 205/50/15 is about the largest you can put on the stock wheels without any tire rub.

Felix Wankel 10-22-2002 10:05 PM

Stock wheels are 13's though.

CSP12a 10-22-2002 10:13 PM

oops, sorry 205/60/13"s sorry, I have 15 on my car Duhhh

Felix Wankel 10-22-2002 10:14 PM

LOL me too. I never even had time to try 205/60/13s.

Seems to me like the car would push more with small tires up front.

CSP12a 10-22-2002 10:22 PM

yea I think your right. I get the feeling that it would push near the limit and have a snap oversteer at the limit. I dont think it would feel real great.

You have to remember...when people do it the right way ..and go up rims size..they go down in the sidewall hight to compensate the diffrence...

My friend ran 17s on his 85 SE with no problem (on stock hight)

Right now...

I personally run 185/60/13 in the front

205/60/13 in the rear..a person who road races wouldnt run it like this..they would run the same all the way around...

if so

185/60/13 or 195/60/13 is good...205/60/13 loosk like **** in the front..like truck tires..I had a friend run (I think Sumitomos) 225/50/13 all the way around...

I have a set of brand new 0 miles..Yokahama A520 sitting here so when I get my SE set up done...

215/45/16 and they are nice....and I dont think I will have a problem with it rubbing..

heres my car now...lowered probally 2 inches...
