There in the "Technobabble" article by Dave Coleman is my idea! He starts going

on about direct injection! my idea is slightly different, but sure enough, there it is

mazda has played with moving the injectors all over, even by the sparkplugs. you get better atomization at high rpms though with the injectors further back, one nice thing about starting with a carby 12a is that you can look at what mazda has tried andd pick your favorite stuff. or hell just get a renisis, 240bhp and its smog legal https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
