only the tach isnt working>?

okisil80 01-11-2005 01:07 PM

yes it's just the tach. I've taken the gauge cluster out an looked at the connectors and everything looked fine.

maybe the tach is actually broken. give me a min, ill pull out the fsm.

Shane.Trammell 01-11-2005 01:26 PM

the fsm says this:

METER fuse: probably not that bc the other gauges are working

Faulty Tachometer, check or replace. Page 18 here.

Faulty wiring, repair as necesary. Page 21 here.

is the trailing ignition working? the tach runs off of the trailing ignitor

tancred 02-03-2006 12:49 PM

Is this why your car can run fine with the tach dead, because your trailing is broken? And leading is all that is needed to run?

if you replaced the coils then its not that.

just buy a new cluster on ebay for 20 dollars. a small penny to see if thats it. rather then spending money on more stuff.

Wow I fixed this a long time ago. The problem was the Ignition module on the side of the dizzy.

lol

kettlman 02-18-2006 05:00 PM

it might even be the wire connecting to the coil is not there. make sure there is 3 wires coming from your trailing coil.
