Wow, the suspension was a huge pain in the ass, but it's finally done.
Two weeks ago I came home from school (45 mins from where I live) and only had time to get 3 shocks/springs done, so the last one remained. Well, I tackled it today and stripped two bolts (the heads) in the process. It was fun running around for 2 hours trying to find the correct size. I finally found the right headsize and thread but wrong length, so I had to cut it to fit. One bolt held the caliper to the backing plate and the other the shock tower to the control arm. At any rate, I'll post some pics of the car to let you see what it looks like. I drove it a little bit (doesn't have insurance) in my neighborhood. The ride was significantly stiffer, but not unbearable or anything. For those of you who don't know, I went with Eibach Pro-Kit springs and Tokico HP shocks. I'm going to call some shops tomorrow to get engine prices and then the real work starts! Here's the new vs the old... |
