I saw a brown FB at a wrecker but the wierd thing was it had the interior in it but there was no sunroof. All the FB's I saw around here have sunroofs and that headliner was a stocker with some little cuts in spots and scratches on it.Was there any full roof FB's?

All first gens in Australia had a solid roof with the exception of the series 3 (84-85) which had the wind up removable sunroof.

As far as I knew before was that the series 1's had no sunroof. Now I see either a S2 or S3 and not too sure what to think about it now. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

That was one of the main differences between a s2 and s3 was the sunroof. I have both types and they are almost identical apart from the oil cooler on the engine, the radio, the 13" mags, the interior fabric and of course the sunroof.

I just have the 2, an 81(s1) and an 84(s3). The 81 was/is a parts car, but I'll be able to still drive it once I've taken the necessary parts for my s3. Thats why I bought it, cause it was cheaper than a s3, yet was almost identical. The s2 will either be sold off to a friend for his own project, or I'll use it as a daily driver. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Yeah, I know that feeling. Right now I have 2/3 jobs (2 are the same job, just at different schools) and I'm working a 6 day week. My plan is to complete my s3 by the end of May (around my bday), spend the next 4-5 months driving it, then in October joins my mates in a backpacking in Europe style holiday till January next year, where I'll come back and get a proper full-time job or maybe start my own company. Meanwhile my friends will stay in Europe for a year working and travelling. We plan to spend new years in Amsterdam. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Series 1 (SA) were available with a sunroof or not. It was a different type than the FB (series 2 & 3), having only one front mounting tab and a different opening mechanism.
FBs were also available with or without sunroof, but for the North American market about 9 in 10 cars sold had the 2 tab wind-up sunroof. In Canada, the GSL-SE came with both the glass and metal roofs as standard equipment. |
