Maybe not such a Stupid ?

By now you all of you have read my past post of upgrades.

Rebuilt 80 12A Motor installed in 84GSL Body. Using the 84 Dist from the blown motor.

I installed the Factory Suggested NGK BR7ET.

Since I did the Dist upgrade should I switch to the

BR8EQ-14 that is sugested by Racing Beat and Haynes Manual for 81-85.

Bridgeported w/ RB Holley and Header Full Exhuast.

Thanks

steve

I run BR8EQ-14 plugs in my '74 13B and I'll try them in my '73 12A. That engine's going from two ground B7EMs to four ground plugs. I'll just need to check length and electrode protrusion inside the rotor housing, but your '80 engine will be fine. Go for it! :bigthumg:

Thanks Guys;

I new you'd have the correct answer on this one.

Gonna put them in today.

Since I only have about 500 miles on the others, I'll use them if I ever have to do the ATF treatment.

the newer ones can take advantage of the higher output of the '84 electronic

ignition. :bigthumg:

Hey Smogfighter,Mike,Luis:

So the 84 Disti Puts out a Higher Output? Didn't know that one.

The other day I was getting really pissed with this RB Holley, i.e. having to change all the settings all the time trying to figure out where my dead spot was coming from.

Had a 2AM Brain Fart and decieded to pull the Disti to make sure that when I installed it, that I had lined it up correctly.( NOT!!!)

I had lined up the line on the shaft to the pin and not the recessed hole.

Did it right and re-timed. Sure made a big difference.

The only thing I can't figure out is how the hell did it run this way???

Have a good one.

Any engine will run if the timing is off.It just depends on how badly off it is.
