Not sure about that one in particular, but i have the mazdatrix short throw shifter and i LOVE IT. would buy it again in a second (but that would just be silly, now, wouldn't it..)

well i just ordered the shifter knob from mazdaracing.com; it has a rotor engraved on it, i thought it was the coolest looking thing. ive been thinking about getting one since you raved so much about yours, so ill probably end up getting the one from MR, because they say it matches perfectly with their knob.

Excellent, let me know what you think of it!

I just bought a short throw from Jeff at Mazda Racing. I will install in the next day or so and let you all know how it does. I would suggest you get a tracking number from MR because they just moved locations and some orders seem to be getting screwed. It took my shifter nearly 4 weeks to arrive after a instant payment from ebay. It got to the point I was having to call Jeff every day and he finally came through and sent it. He's seems to be a great guy but their shipping operation seems to lag a good bit.

I have love the mazdatrix shifter too, I have had 2 or 3 of them,

I would like to try one of Higgi's though..

Maybe we should see if mazdaracing would like to do a gb on them...

Okay i've seen a few of these, but i can't seem to find one that is for the '79 tranny.....

1gendreemer 05-04-2004 07:12 AM

I'd be interested in a GB for a short shifter... but for the 80's trannies.

jebenkurac 05-04-2004 10:50 AM

GB?

ioTus 05-04-2004 05:29 PM

group buy.

I've never heard anything good about mazdaracing.com.... but rumors are just that, rumors.

The MR short throw with knob is installed. It is a tremendous difference from the factory. The throw is waaaay shorter than any that I have experienced. The quality is there, installation, of course, was a snap. MR used only brand new factory Mazda replacement seals and gaskets for the install. The knob fits nicely. The shifts are very secure. It is just such a great difference from the OEM that it will take some getting used to. 2nd to 3rd shift is a little odd, kinda hard to find. I haven't found a good way to speed shift that change yet. I cannot knock the product because the price and the quality is great for the product. It boils down to personal preference.

well ive got the MR shiftknob, its black which they dont even sell on their site, so im thinking ill order the shifter itself after i get this rack and pinion kit ordered, if cp will ever answer my email

just put the mazda racing shifter and knob on this afternoon. i can't believe the ease of the install and the amazingly short throw. all i can say is wow, and hopefully get some pics up soon. oh and reverse is the hardest gear to get into.
