The Distributor shaft makes Three revolutions for every single
revolution of the rotor? Where is the transition? The eccentric shaft? Anyone have a simple explanation? |
the rotors are geared 1:3 vs the eshaft, so one rotor fires every 180degrees of e shaft rotation. the dizzy is geared 1/2 eshaft speed, like a normal piston engine

Why do the leading plugs fire together, I mean at 180 deg. off, why do both housings get fire at the same time?
Until recently I thought the leading and trailing plugs in one housing fired at the same time. This almost made since, two plugs, twice the power to send the rotor around. But now I know it goes Leading, Trailing, and Leading again. The Trailing doesnt fire again because it would cause pre-ignition. so how does the dizz work this out? |
it fires l1 t1 and then 180 degrees later its l2 t2.
