I was reading that the muffler from the 86.5-92 supras have the same hanger location and fit the FB body really well.Do anybody know if this is true?

not sure... but then will a Supra muffler last more than a year breathing the hotter rotary exhaust?

Speaking of mufflers, I know a guy who owns an exhaust/muffler store and I was asking him about what type of exhaust set up I should get for the TII engine. He said that a 3" pipe of the dump to the cat, then 2.5" from the cat to the muffler would be the best way to go, because after the cat the exhaust is cooler, and therefore doesn't need the bigger pipe. He also said that it helps with back pressure, but I said that rotarys didn't need the backpressure like a piston engine. (Theres an indepth exhaust thread around here somewhere). Then he said, thats fine, but after a while, the sound of a 3" straight through pipe will make you hate driving your car, cos it will be all you hear. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
Thoughts?? |
and the down side to that is????????

Rotaries sound awesome with 3" pipe after the cat. They might get a little loud without a muffler tho. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
