just wondering what all the fuss is about removing the nest, what was your experience in doing the mod.

spiney360 12-18-2003 01:55 AM

there is no gain at all.... the main reson it is done is just to get rid of that god afull thing!!!!! and it frees up alot of space..... and it alows for the removal of the air pump and acv and ectra....

drifter 12-18-2003 06:29 PM

Its not so much about gains, but getting rid of all the useless tubing and **** in the engine bay.

By not having it I was able to tear down the whole thing in 6 hours by myself and no lifting tools. I can get it back in and running in 4. instead of 12hrs with the "nest".

Holy **** steve.I was starting to wonder what happened to you after your motor blew.So you bought another motor or rebuilt the old one?I doubt the rats nest has any effect on your cruise.Isn't the crusie activated off just a regular electric motor?Mine was pulled on my 83 before I bought it.

drifter 12-21-2003 02:02 AM

I couldn't see the cruise control being vacumm actuated, its just holding the throttle cable in a constant position really. (time to grab the ol' workshop manual).

My cruise control never worked. (either that or I could never work it) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Hey RacerX;

Yes I had to put alot of things on hold till I gots the new motor back from Pinnaple Racing.

Man they did a great job with it. Everything is brand new and I had them do all the Oil mods and install a RB Clutch setup w/ this Motor.

I can't wait till it's broke in. It's real hard not to want to get on it. But my lack of patience killed the last one.

This time I went with the Street Port only and it sure Idles much smoother than when I did the Bridgeport on the last one.

This one cost me $3800.00US so it better last.

Anyhew I hope your ongoing never happy until you reach 600HP is going well!!!

Thankyou everyone for you help on the Cruise Control situation.

It was not a life threatning deal, but I think with this info I can finnaly get it figured out.

I bought a complete setup from Morgan and will remove mine and see if it works???

Just an F.Y.I.

If any of ya's are looking at the Full Gauge Pillar setup from Lo-Tek Engineering,

(Buy It)

It fit perfect and Holds either 2" or 2-1/16 Gauges.

Took 3 days to get to my doorstep, 10mins to install. Cost $50.98 shipping included.

Thanks again everybody for your help.

steve
