Has any one used these? I have seen them in the bargain bin for 1st gens and they are only 230 apiece. Are they higher compression or something or what's so good about them. If I can get a pretty good amount of power out of them I'll buy some. I think they would go great with an aggressive street port.

the only thing different is that the rotor gear wont come out

That means that you can run them at higher RPM than a stock redline. You've still got to clearance them on the sides though.

The 12A ones are the Medium Deep Recess variety, not used in US 12A engines since 1975. I assume this may be better for power (they are race rotors after all) vs. the Leading Deep variety.
I'm not sure whether they are the heavy (10.1 lb) or light (9.6 lb) type. Anyone ever experience rotor gear walkout? I've seen it once in an engine I took apart. No idea what the circumstances were. I do know that the proper preventative measure is the snap ring method that Racing Beat uses. I've seen set screws used for this purpose - this can cause catastrophic bearing failure. |
