I'm putting a series 5 motor in my GSL-SE. I know the oil pan and front cover will have to be switched, but will the distributor from the SE work? Also, are there any other things I should swap/ not swap? The motor is going to be carb'd so no worries about the fuel injection. Will the header from the SE work with the new motor (they are both 13B's)?

all of the 13b's have the same header bolt pattern. and the dizzy will work on any engine from 74-91

I'm not sure about carb applications on the s5 engines, but you might have a problem with the s5 OMP because its not mechanical.
With a s5 conversion you will prolly find that you need to block off the omp and run premix. But, you still have to keep the omp plugged into the fuel computer or it eats **** (limp home mode). Its got self-protection mode to stop damage from no oil. This might not matter if your running the carby though. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif |
If hes swapping the front cover to put it in the car (which he is), then the OMP could be swapped as well, right?

If you're going to be using the carb and front cover from the GSL-SE then there shouldn't be any probs with retaining the OMP from the GSL-SE as well.
