rootbeerdragon 01-03-2006 08:53 PM

no, no wiring diagrams and i blew a fuse on the fuse box thingy, so i have no power to the car, either way the engine is stripped

j9fd3s 01-03-2006 09:51 PM

i think its black with green, but i'm not sure.

rootbeerdragon 01-12-2006 03:56 PM

it does come from the harness by the steering box. it goes from the starter to the start terminal of the ignition switch

RE_TurboFB 01-14-2006 11:59 PM

There should be a direct conection from the battery to the starter. There also should be a Black wire with a Yellow stripe going to start terminal in your ignition switch. some also have a Blue wire with a White strip that goes to the Hot Start Relay I think.....

rootbeerdragon 01-17-2006 03:54 PM

alright alright, i think i got it now, i looked at the harness i fooked up and theres like three of the same wires coming out of 1 slot on the connecter head (black with yellow stripes) doesnt matter witch one i use?? i also tried looking for the wiring diagrams on ebay for cheap but they dont have any

thanks

j9fd3s 01-17-2006 10:30 PM

its black with white

RE_TurboFB 01-17-2006 10:39 PM

Is it ok to scan a wiring diagram and post it on the thread???

drifter 01-18-2006 07:41 PM

yes, of course

drifter 01-18-2006 07:48 PM

I've attached the engine electrical chapter of the 2nd gen workshop manual, it may be of assistance to you.

If I can find my 1st gen workshop manuals, I'll post that one up too.

rootbeerdragon 01-21-2006 12:11 PM

grrrr... i found the wire that i cut on accident, but i cant see to find were it came from... i tried the wires from the steering box harness, but i cant see to find it.. if anyone can scan the wiring diagrams for me, that would help me alot!!!

thanks again

RE_TurboFB 01-21-2006 06:03 PM

Here ya go... hope it helps! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

rootbeerdragon 01-21-2006 08:13 PM

thats like reading alien code

RE_TurboFB 01-21-2006 09:10 PM

Well if ya look you can find the battery, Starter, Ignition switch etc..... The lines coming off the componets are wires and you can identify them by color code next to them i.e. BY, LW.......

CODE:

B=Black

Br=Brown

G=Green

Gy=Grey

L=Blue

Lb=Light Blue

Lg=Light Green

O=Orange

R=Red

W=White

Y=Yellow

Once you find the starter on the diagram you can see 4 wires coming from it. one going to the battery. One going to the fusible link then to the hot start relay LW (Blue-White). One going to the ignition switch BY (Black-Yellow). The ground (It touching the tranny), And then there is a Black with white strip wire going to a inhibitor switch, But only on automatics.... Hope this helps.......

rootbeerdragon 01-21-2006 10:04 PM

Having never seen an automatic RX-7 up close, I'd say either on your transmission or shifter.

it just goes inbetween the key and the starter, when its not in P or N it wont let you start it

rootbeerdragon 01-28-2006 04:28 PM

thanks

rootbeerdragon 03-15-2006 03:37 PM

sorry its been awhile, ive had many other things going on but basically i have pictures of where i believe the starter wire is now... these pictures show the wiring harness coming from the drivers side...

http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/3508/dsc000313ek.jpg

then this is what it runs too, i believe i have the right wire, it comes froms the plug with three wires running to the same connector...
