1985 RX-7 GSL-SE

13BRE "Cosmo" Two rotor

93 Pump Fuel / Low Boost Setting (14 PSI)

Haltech E6K / 63-1 Turbo

Ford 8.8 Rear End (much heavier, with more drivetrain loss)

Nasty, Hot Conditions - 100 degrees+

408 RWHP at 14 PSI

Crispeed Tuned.

[attachment=33148:attachment]

Don't go by the A/F numbers on the Sheet, the Dyno's wideband was off by .75 or more +/-.

We were getting bad ignition readings over 14PSI, so we couldn't run anymore boost. Might have a bad CAS. Will look into it this week.

The car did 340 at 9 PSI (Wastegate spring) and 408 at 14PSI. Looking forward to 17 and 19 PSI on pump gas. Then go for broke on Race Fuel.

I am verrrrry happy with the Turbo. The boost comes on nice and quick,

with no lag. Pulls like a freight train. The drag radials are no match for traction.

BIIIIG Difference in drivability over the Holley Blow-Through setup I previously had. Not to mention, more power under the curve.

I am in love all over again.

Thanks Cris.

So who did your swap??? I am in minnesota and that is pretty much what I am plannign on doing.. was contemplating a 20b but I htink 13b will do...

what $$$$ value did it take fo ryou... I have an 85 GSL-SE...

Way to go DF.Nice numbers. Now throw the widebody on it and you'll have both show and go. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bling.gif

That's the Low Boost Numbers...

Back then, we couldn't raise the boost higher than 14psi, otherwise the ignition was breaking up. When we returned, the problem persisted - until we found out the dyno ignition pick up wire was actually causing the cross-fire. Crap!

Well, once we eliminated the dyno RPM signal wire, we were able to increase the boost:

Numbers are:

336 at 9 psi (pump gas)

409 at 14 psi (pump gas)

xxx at 18 psi (pump gas)

XXX at 21 psi (C-16)

The car:

1985 RX-7 GSL-SE

Haltech E6K -Tuned by Crispeed

63-1 Turbo

Ford 8.8 Rear End (very heavy!)

Isuzu NPR Intercooler (Large)

720's & 1600's

Aeromotive 1000

Here's the video of it all:

High Resolution (89 megs) right click, and Save-As <-Thanks Vosko!

Low Resolution (Streetfire) <-56K Only (should be working soon)

Let me know what you think.

I'll post a full dyno sheet soon. The engine is definately capable of more power - We just ran out of wastegate spring. We could't run more than 20psi. Even with the Profec B set all the way. I have a 9lb spring in the Wastegate, and really should be runninng a 14+lb spring to enable higher boost.

It's all good though, and I am verrry happy with the performance, Especially

from a relatively small turbo - deisgned for street use, quick spooling.

Once again - Thanks Chris.

Is this the car I have seen video of taking down the 350Z and then the guys in the 350 were claiming the rx7 was spraying?

Ghetto12A 10-06-2005 01:07 PM

is that a streetport on an otherwise stock motor? if so, you're a badass. took me a while (after watching the dyno vid.) to figure out that's 11k rpm you're hitting. i'm supremely jealous...

wondering the same too, is that stock port?

those numbers seem doable on stock port. ive seen 60-1's do that with 4psi more, so 63-1 could manage i bet

I've done one similar to his and I'm in MN. If you have any questions shoot me a PM.
