Power window won't go up
#1
Last week I found an 85 GSL-SE for sale in real good condition and purchased it. I had rolled the window on the drivers side down and back up a few times, but today it won't go back up. If I hit down, it will go down further, but it just refuses to go up at all.
What should I check to see if I can fix this? Clearly the motor is good, could it be the switch in the console?

i had this happen to me on my gsl. first make sure the rubber trim didnt fall off the track and "block" the window somehow, then inspect the tracks themselves for warpage /blockage then if all that ,get to your power window motor. you will need to remove the motor and make sure the teeth have not gone over past the end of the track for them. If so you will need to dissemble the motor from the arm and manually reset (move) it back onto the teeth correctly. its kinda hard to explain but thats my best shot you ll understand what i'm saying when your looking at the assembly.

Well, after I took the panel off, and removed some nice plastic wrap stuff, I noticed the plug for the motor only had two terminals, so I figured it was the switch. I reversed the two wires and now hitting down made the window go up, hitting up did nothing. Guess I'll have to pick up one of those switch assemblies.
