Are you sure that oil filter pedestal is from an FC? Sounds good!

Felix Wankel 10-13-2002 12:54 PM

It may be off an old 12A. I don't remember now.

Nice 1st gen Felix. The wheels and lip look good!I need to get a 15" or bigger wheel for mine.13's spin too easily to 5000 rpm in 2nd.I hate that so much.Hopefully I can get paint and body work this winter then GSL-SE brakes next year.LSD will make my car a shitload faster.

Nice car Felix. Love those rims.

What was the first year the RX7 was offered by Mazda?

I heard there was ultra rare 78's in North America but as far as I know for sure they started in 79.

Shane.Trammell 10-14-2002 05:06 PM

that looks great felix. you have the same steering wheel as me. whats it off of? my passenger floorboard looks the same as yours too!

j9fd3s 10-14-2002 05:06 PM

they started in 3/78, but it was a 79 model year.

I really like first gen's cause they look nice with old school rims but I live in California so It sux if you wanna modify it cause of the smog regulations. What company makes the foam air filters on your carb.

Racing Beat sells them for the dellorto.I still need to buy one tho.I'll talk to them soon about it.I would fab up a CAI(cold air intake)But I strapped for cash thanks to my rolling bank book.

If you were referring to mine.I'm not sure if I can pull the charcoal canister and the lines to it.They have steel lines from under the car going to it.

RX7CMS 10-16-2002 08:00 PM

I was talking about felix's car but I guess, It would be the same for our cars sence we have all most the same set up. unless I get that street ported motor. I am looking at the haynes manual and on the 2nd gen n/a, the lines off of it go to the check valve and a line into the motor under the oil filter https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Felix Wankel 10-17-2002 07:36 PM

I left it to absorb the gas fumes.
