question about OMP, on page 62 in the Haynes manual , it describes the adjustments for the omp. i am unclear about how to adjust for more oil to pump, do you shorten the stroke or go to longest point on the linkage, also, if you have an "operational" omp and with the engine running should the lines appear full of oil or does it look empty with little movement of oil seen thru the lines (like my 85), i am pre mixing because i am unsure if mine is operating correctly...{again, this question if for those that have an OMP that is working correctly.....}

You usualy can'tsee much oil in the tubes. It says that you should have 2.0-2.4cc after 6min of runing it at 6000rpm. thats not much oil if you think about it. It says to disconect the lines and put them in a measuring cylinder but remember to make sure you have premixed. I'm useing a masda manual its a litle beter than the haynes.

I just noticed that in my haynes manual it tells how to adjust it but in the mazda manual it says to replace it if not puting out enough. It doesn't even tell how to adjust it. At $150 I would rather try to adjust it than replace it. I'm not sure where to get a graduated cylinder? My girlfreind said maybe wallmart. I would definatly check it though I smelled oil burning one day and found a hose broke two days later after replaceing it #2 rotor lost an apex seal.

Stock= .2-.3ml (cc) @2000 rpm

The linkage rod is pulled up by the lever on the carb.

To increase oil output (judging by the diagrams...), you need to back the setscrew

out.

A word of caution, go too far, car smokes. Don't go far enough, you blow an apex

seal, car smokes and has a lack of power.

Basically you setup it too high it won't do damage but smoke more than usual.Anything less you'll cause engine damage. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png I just set mine up the stock way and with my racing beat setup I'll be pre-mixing once this tank is gone.Better to be safe than sorry.
