So it appears my 86 FC has a FB GSL-SE racing beat header and presilencer (GSL-SE Transmission too). This was matted to a very poor quality exhaust shop 'custom' catback. I found this out when I went to install a Racing Beat catback and the presilencer did not mate up to the catback. There was a good 8-12 inches of space between the two.

Can anyone of you FB guys confirm that the headers are from a FB?

Look on the main flange that bolts to the engine. Sometimes RB will engrave the part number of the header into that flange. At least that's how the 12A header that I have is. Maybe you can use that number to check against the RB website and see which header you have...

what size is the piping? the 1st gen stuff is 1.75" and the FC stuff is like 2" or so

looks like it might be a gsl-se setup

Is the flange size on the presilencer the same as the diameter on your catback? If so then it is not a SE header.

I have installed a SE header and presilencer on a FC before. There was only about a 4-5 inch difference in lenght. But I had to have an adapter made to connect the 2 because of the difference in flange diameters.

The # "130" is engraved on the flange.

Racing Beat Part # 16130: 1986-92 RX-7 (Non-turbo) Streetable Header/Collector

You can go to Racingbeat.com and search by part number if you want more information. However, it would appear that you do indeed have a FC header, not an FB header.
