im telling you, im not liking holley's

im having an odd problem which may be a common thing, but im not so well versed in carb's.

well, im getting no gas through my primary float, no clue why not.

with the fuel pump on, i pull the accelerator cable and watch gas come out of my secondary bowl, but nothing from the primary, on top of that my fuel psi rises until i pull the accelerator cable and dump fuel, then it goes back down.

if i pull the screw off on the side, cant remeber what its called, the one that you use to check adjustments on the side of the float. no fuel what so ever.

it comes through with the fuel line with no problem what so ever. but the minute i put the fuel line on the float, no gas.

any clue whats going on?

Stuck Primary Float.

Tap the Bowl with a Large Screwdriver Handle.

Since it's a RB prepped Carb call them and see what they suggest.

floats are now fixed, no more fuel pressure problems, jets are good, took the metering block off and checked all of that goodness, all clear and nice.

but whatever these things are, arent spraying fuel into the throttle chamber, sorry for the massive pic

It sounds like the accellerator pump membrane might be torn or the passages may be clogged. If the float was stuck that tells me that it may have sat for a long time. You need to check and make sure everything is clear.

On a side note... when the throttle cable is pulled make sure that the accelerator pump arm is in contact with the pump under the fuel bowl on the primary and secondary sides of the carburator.

sounds like you need a rebuild

check to make sure your fuel system is not contaminated {dirt ,rubber from deteriorated fuel lines ,trashed fuel filter,} ect.

i would agree with the accelerator pump. double check that. it's the square looking thing on the engine side under the bowls. there should be aan arm comeing off the side of the firewall that the linkage pushes down. 4 screws hold it on. good luck.
