hey guys whats up? im new to this but i jus bought a mint 85 with a 12a an was wondering if anyone can get me caught up with its pros/cons. are they as fast as people tell me , anything bad happens to em alot? i dont know much about them but i plan on moddin it out as much as possible and would like to know what i can get and what to not to.

also , i read in another post, that unless u have a standard, you really cant get all the power at the higher rpms. if i had a automatic, what if u jus shift 1 to 2 manually at higher rpms? beause i wouldent know where to start to find a way to convert my automatic TII tranny for a standard

welcome im sure youll enjoy your stay here at nopistons.com.

just remmember 1 simple rule, DO NOT TAKE BIGTIME AND SORROW SERIOUSLY. unless theyre answering a tech question.

my dad used to have a 85 base auto back in the late 80s. i tought it was kinda quick. but a 5 sp is definately better.

as far as mods, can you pls post what does the car already have done. you mentioned auto TII tranny. anything else and why does it have that particular tranny.

i dont know much about it, im gettin it from cousins b/f who cant afford ****.. so i wanted to buy it off him. looking at it, it dossent seem like much mods besides the phat body kit an the whale tail. the kit makes the car sit too low though i think. thinkin of that, can you fit big rims on these cars? btw, al i know is that he siaid he put a new turbo 2 tranny in it. whatever that means.....

Now who would want to drop a V8 in a Rx?That takes the fun out of owning one.
