Hey how are you guy doing I am new to the no pistions and I am ready to get in as deep as I can. I own a dsm and a 1g rx7 and I hate to say a prelude si 89. But I am doing work on my dsm as we speak but I have that rx7 and it has been sitting for the longest. My dad remarried and now it is mine. The women told me that the tranny was slipping and a spark plug wire had been taken off. So all I can think of is to drain the old gas and liquids and just R and R (rip out and replace). Is there anything that I need to know or check I am in a community college right now taking Aut so I have a good idea of what I am getting my self into but rotary is something new. I am taking Manual drive trains right now so taking the old tranny out and rebuilding it will not be a problem so is there any thing that you guy can recamend to me it would be a big help to me thank you and have a good day.

Weocome to the group. Don't worry I am sure that you will fit in just fine. There is only one car that has more problems then a RX7 and that is a DSM https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png



Just hang around and pick up this little things. You will catch on. I would suggest general maintenence. Ie spark plugs, gas, oil, coolant etc.

Oh boy, get ready for some fun. Mine sat for ten years, and now is being prepped for the road as we speak.

So far I've had to replace the parts below, and it was running when parked!?!



Tires

Brakes

Spark plugs and wires

Fuel tank and lines

Carburetor(bought one for $300 that was supposedly redone. Just paid $525 to get it done right)

Timing pulley was off 90* from a previous mechanic

One ignitor

Fuel pump(installing a Holley and regulator today)

Oil cooler(both connections had several cracks, and had to be professionally repaired)

One wheel(was so corroded the tire bead couldn't seal)

Do I regret any of it? NO! It's been about 6-8 months of headaches and frustration, but it's all

coming to an end soon. The last hurdle will come in a week or so, when the exhaust gets redone.
