who would have thought, in new jersey no less that a 1979 rx7 would pass emissions inspection. Damn I love this car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

lol I think I'm going to just leave this one alone, no mods to engine at all. She runs so good, I'm not chancing it. I just ordered tires, going to order struts and shocks, maybe upgrade to a cd player, but that's it.

exactly!! The damn carb and choke even work correctly. I was tempted to pull the rats nest and stuff, but tthen I know the carb will never operate the same again. SO I leave it all alone, this way I can keep buying stuff to rebuild the FD https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Hey that's good Jay, Do u have a main cat on the 79? I know that they don't come with it but I knew people had put some high flow on them. Anyway I took my 80 to wayne inspection and it pass too but I have a high flow cat on it which probably made pass. btw what color is door panel? Khris

Thats cool that it passed. Two more years and its an official classic here in Wa. I don't believe cars 25 and older need to be smogged but I might be wrong.

Actually no, the 79-80 models don't use cats.
